AITOS EV 903 Mono Output Transformer Less Power Amplifier (OTL)
The Aitos EV903, a 250 watt mono OTL power amplifier, is the culmination of research, development, and customer and listening panel feedback. The EV 903 is the most powerful amplifier in the AITOS family of audio equipment.
Though the Aitos 800 series had an unmatched musicality, there was a clear requirement for a more powerful but similarly musical amplifier able to drive lower impedance/sensitivity loudspeakers. The first version of this more powerful amplifier came in the form of the EV 901. With further research and development, the more advanced EV 903 was finally introduced in 2010.
Examine the inside of the amplifier: you will immediately see three huge capacitors the size of beer cans and a very large AC power transformer (fabricated with special core iron). The result is a huge dynamic reserve and enormous dynamics. The Aitos EV 903 delivers a total of 250 Watts into 8 Ω! Unlike other modern OTL designs, or even standard tube amplifiers with transformer, the amplifier has an acceptable physical format and relatively low AC drain.
